The Arbor Day Project

We invite you to take a walk through the city parks of Rochester.  Take a look at our trees.  Use this website as a guide to learn about these trees and how much they give back to the community!  And when you are done, take our short quiz.

Rochester, Indiana has been recognized as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation since 1999.  This program recognizes communities that manage, protect, and expand their urban trees.

As part of the Tree City USA program, communities hold Arbor Day programs to celebrate urban trees and promote public education about trees and what they do for us.  The current Covid situation has caused us to change plans.  So we are celebrating trees the whole month of September!

Need help identifying trees?  These guides and websites can help you with many of the common trees in Rochester.
